Golden Slipper winner Capitalist will stand his first season at Newgate Farm for a fee of $55,000.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt won the 2016 Magic Millions-Slipper double and earned more than $3.5 million.
He was found to have a small bone chip in the lead-up to the Darley Classic in November and the decision was made to retire him given the recovery time needed.
Newgate Farm's managing director Henry Field said a number of Group class mares had already been booked for Capitalist in the 2017 breeding season.
