Menari to miss Skyline Stakes

Friday 24 February 2017, 6:01pm

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Dracarys is the new favourite for the Skyline Stakes following the withdrawal of Golden Slipper second-elect Menari.

The Gerald Ryan stable said on Friday Menari needed stitches after cutting his top lip in a mishap in his yard overnight.

The colt will now run in either the Todman Stakes at Randwick on Saturday week or the Black Opal Stakes in Canberra the following day.

Menari, an unlucky second to leading Blue Diamond Stakes hope Pariah in the Canonbury Stakes, is at $8 along with Houtzen for the Golden Slipper behind She Will Reign who is at $3.
