Leading contender for the NSW Country Championship Final, Perfect Dare, has tuned up for the $400,000 race with a barrier trial win at the Gold Coast.
Trained by Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah, Perfect Dare beat Murder Of Crows in Tuesday's 1000m-heat.
"It was a good effort and just what he needed," Dunn said.
"He won't start again before the championship final but he will have a jump-out at Murwillumbah before he goes to Sydney."
Perfect Dare earned his $4.60 equal favouritism for the Randwick race on April 1 with a runaway win in a heat at Grafton two weeks ago.
The Danny Williams-trained Pumpkin Pie is the other equal favourite after her tough win in the regional heat at Goulburn.
