Jukebox to be vetted before next run

Wednesday 1 March 2017, 6:12pm

The Ciaron Maher-trained Jukebox will undergo a further veterinary inspection when he arrives in Sydney from Melbourne ahead of his attempt to get his Golden Slipper campaign on track.

The colt was withdrawn from the Blue Diamond Stakes on the eve of last Saturday's race with two Racing Victoria vets and an independent vet determining he was lame.

On Monday the stable reported an abscess in his near fore hoof had burst.

Jukebox is an acceptor for the Todman Stakes at Randwick on Saturday and is entered for the Black Opal Stakes the following day.

He will be inspected by Racing NSW senior veterinarian Craig Suann on Friday with the Maher stable to provide a clearance from its own vet before the colt arrives.
