Allanah Fancourt earns ride on favourite

Apprentice Allanah Fancourt's stellar form has earned her the ride on favourite Flamboyer in the non-claiming Listed Goldmarket Stakes.

Fancourt has ridden 10 winners since March 1 including a double at Doomben on Wednesday on Ercolano and Happy Hooves for her master Tony Gollan.

She is currently second on the Brisbane apprentices's title with 19 winners, three behind Tiffani Brooker.

Fancourt combined with Flamboyer to win a handicap at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and trainer Kelly Doughty was impressed with the way she rated the gelding in the lead.

"Flamboyer is racing well and the track conditions should suit him. It is a nice ride," Fancourt said.

Doughty entered Flamboyer for the Goldmarket (1200m) and the Group Three Newcastle Newmarket (1400m) on Friday but elected to go with Saturday's Gold Coast race.

"Flamboyer needs soft tracks and there has been rain at the Gold Coast. I am told the Newcastle track is designed to dry out quickly so we decided to stay at home," Doughty said.
