Aidan O'Brien favoured for trainers' title

Tuesday 19 March 2013, 12:02pm

Aidan O'Brien is the 5-4 favourite to regain the British Flat trainers' championship, ahead of the start of the new season this week.

The master of Ballydoyle has been Britain's champion trainer on four occasions, but his last title was back in 2008.

Richard Hannon has been champion in 1992, 2010 and 2011 and is a 2-1 shot to regain his title.

Reigning champion John Gosden is rated a 10-1 chance to retain the championship.

"Aidan O'Brien looked to have the title all but sewn up last year having won the first four Classics," Coral's David Stevens said.

"Richard Hannon is his closest rival at this stage, with Toronado a rare Epsom Derby hope for the veteran trainer."
