Jenny Duggan to ride in apprentices' race

Tuesday 19 March 2013, 5:59pm

Leading Sydney apprentice Jenny Duggan will ride in Tasmania for the first time after being selected to represent NSW in the third heat of the National Apprentice Series at Launceston on Wednesday night.

A former picnic race jockey, Duggan has made an impact on Sydney racing to be leading Sam Clipperton in the race for the junior title.

NSW is equal second with the Northern Territory after two heats of the series which have both been won by Victoria represented by Chad Schofield and Katelyn Mallyon.

The fourth heat will be hosted by NSW on April 11 at Hawkesbury.

South Australia has won three of the four titles in 2009, 2011 and 2012 with Victoria taking the series in 2010.
