Jason Collett has been ruled out of the ride on Chance To Dance in the re-run of the Group One Sydney Cup by a suspension at Warwick Farm.
Collett was suspended for four meetings, which includes the Sydney Cup at Randwick on April 22, after pleading guilty on Wednesday to careless riding in the home straight on Braces in the last race.
Apprentice Courtney van der Werf, who rode Timeless Prince to sixth, successfully protested against Collett on the fifth placed Braces with the positions reversed.
Collett was outed from April 18 to April 26.
He had been booked to replace Damian Lane on the Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards-trained Chance To Dance, who went past the post in second place behind Polarisation in last weekend's Sydney Cup no-race at Randwick.
"I felt I've been hard done by," Collett said.
The Sydney Cup was called off mid-race after Almoonqith broke down and Who Shot Thebarman lost his rider but the jockeys on six horses ahead of the incident were unaware and kept going to the finish line.
