English visitor Polarisation will undergo a veterinary inspection before he is confirmed as a starter in the Sydney Cup.

The Godolphin stayer was found to have heat in a fetlock over the weekend with the stable veterinarian ordering precautionary X-rays and ultrasounds which gave him the all-clear.

Racing NSW chief veterinary officer Craig Suann will examine Polarisation on Tuesday morning.

Polarisation crossed the line first in the Sydney Cup no-race in which six jockeys were unaware it had been called off.

James Ferguson, who is looking after Polarisation and Penglai Pavilion at the Canterbury quarantine centre, said Polarisation had not missed any work.

There were 16 entries taken on Monday for the $2 million race which has been rescheduled for Saturday at Randwick.

The 3200m-feature has a field limit of 14.
