In-form jockey Ron Stewart realises his first ride on Too Good To Refuse could be his last, at least in the short term.
Too Good To Refuse lines up in the Listed Tails Stakes (1600m) at Doomben on Saturday but his two regular riders have other commitments.
Trainer Desleigh Forster was looking for a stand-by jockey and Stewart was more than happy to oblige.
"Dan Griffin rode Too Good To Refuse at his last start but he had eight rides at the Gold Coast," Forster said.
"He was willing to forgo them and come up to Brisbane but I said it would be silly. Jim Byrne has ridden Too Good To Refuse recently but again he is committed to his main trainer Tony Gollan's Brazen Moss."
Brazen Moss beat Too Good To Refuse when they met at Doomben on April 1.
Forster said she had already confirmed Griffin would be the rider of Too Good To Refuse in the Group Two Hollindale Stakes at the Gold Coast on May 6.
"Dan is the leading rider down there and knows the track backwards," Forster said.
"What it all means is I was looking for a jockey for just one ride on Too Good To Refuse. Ron was good enough to take it when a few others knocked me back."
"But he is riding very well and he will suit Too Good To Refuse. Who knows what will happen further into the winter."
The Forster-trained Toowoomba Cup winner Cylinder Beach will work with another stablemate, Group One placed I'm Belucci, between races on Saturday.
"The Brisbane Race Club has been good enough to let me work on a course proper for which I am very grateful," Forster said.
