Randwick heavy for June Stakes meeting.

Thursday 8 June 2017, 11:39am

The Randwick track is already heavy with rain expected to continue in the lead-up to the June Stakes meeting.

Randwick racecourse manager Nevesh Ramdhani said the surface had handled the recent deluge well and there was no evidence of surface water on the track during an inspection on Thursday morning.

Ramdhani said 106.4mm of rain had fallen on the track in the seven days to 9am on Thursday morning, including 51mm overnight and was rated a heavy 9.

He said more rain was expected up until and including Saturday.

Barrier trials scheduled for Rosehill on Friday have been postponed until Tuesday because of the wet weather.
