Top Of My List eyes Queensland debut

Thursday 8 June 2017, 5:12pm

Having finalised plans to return to the family's spiritual home Leilani Lodge, Anthony and Edward Cummings are also happy ahead of Top Of My List's first start outside NSW.

The father and son training team will move into Leliani Lodge at Randwick in the new season with Edward's brother James to take up the position of Godolphin's head Australian trainer.

Leilani Lodge was established by Anthony's late father Bart more than 40 years ago.

Top Of My List is chasing her third straight win when she lines up in Saturday's Group Two Brisbane Cup at Doomben where she steps up to 2200 metres for the first time.

Edward Cummings said her form to win the Group Three JRA Plate and Listed Lord Mayor's Cup over 2000m in April and May respectively left little cause for trepidation.

"I don't think that'll be too much of a problem for her. She's obviously done pretty well at 2000 in two attempts," Cummings said.

"I think she's suited down to the ground for the trip. She's had the typical kind of break and we couldn't be much more happier with her."

Top Of My List impressed during a track gallop at Randwick on Tuesday and was taken north by road on Wednesday night.

"We've got tried and true routines for horses travelling interstate. The travel situation doesn't bother us too much," Cummings said.

The Darren Weir-trained Neverland was the TAB's $5 favourite on Thursday ahead of Single Gaze ($5.50) and Top Of My List ($6).
