Thomas Sadler has broken new ground by becoming the first junior rider in living memory to be stood down for failing to produce his apprentice's log book as required at every meeting.
Stewards at Sandown stood Sadler down from next Wednesday's race meeting at the same track.
Chief steward Terry Bailey said Sadler had repeatedly forgotten to bring the book to race meetings and had recently been fined $300 for a previous offence.
Bailey said he had also spoken to Sadler's father and master, trainer John Sadler, about the indiscretions.
The talented Sadler has been enjoying a good run and on Wednesday landed his 11th winner in the past month.
In September, Sadler was involved in one of the more bizarre incidents of recent times when he accidentally reversed a car into fellow jockey Chris Symons who suffered a fractured ankle that kept him out of the saddle for four months.
Apprentices log books are used to record all rides and must be handed in to stewards at the start of each meeting.
