Egg Tart to have race day gallop

Friday 22 September 2017, 10:09am

Leading Epsom Handicap contender Egg Tart will have a race day gallop at Rosehill ahead of her next Group One assignment.

Egg Tart was listed to run in a barrier trial at Warwick Farm on Friday but trainer Chris Waller elected to wait a day to give her a gallop with Kerrin McEvoy to ride.

Happy Clapper displaced Egg Tart as favourite for the Epsom (1600m) on September 30 with his gallant second to Winx in the Group One George Main Stakes and is at $4.50.

Dual Oaks winner Egg Tart, who finished second in the Theo Marks won in a Rosehill 1300m-record time by Deploy, is at $6 in the Epsom with three of her stablemates - Comin' Through, Foxplay and Tom Melbourne - on the third line at $11.
