Places for a start in the Group One Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley are at a premium.

A total of 24 horses have been nominated for Friday night's 1000m-sprint which has a field limit of 13 plus four emergencies.

Confusion has reigned over the order of entry.

First horses guaranteed a start are those having won more than $90,000 prize money in the previous two years for being placed between first and fifth with their order determined on total prize money.

The next clause is for horses having won $60,000 and then $30,000 under the same conditions.

Should there be any available places remaining they are then determined on aggregate prize money.

The Joe Pride-trained Ball Of Muscle, second to Buffering in the Moir two years ago, was a late entry on Tuesday for the Premiere Stakes at Randwick as he also looked like missing out.

Having won $121,000 for her victory over I Am A Star and Chautauqua in the Rubiton Stakes last February, Super Cash sits 18th in the order courtesy of her earnings of $395,250.

Her trainer Andrew Noblet is resigned to missing the race being so far down the list but insists she's had a good preparation for the race.

Noblet planned the mare's preparation to begin on Friday night and she had a gallop on the course proper at Caulfield on Tuesday to have her in top order.

"She came off the track bouncing around," Noblet said.

"She's ready to go, if she gets a run."

If Super Cash misses a start on Friday night she will run in the Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield on October 14.

The mare's stablemate, Group One winner Silent Sedition, will begin her spring in the Gilgai Stakes at Flemington on Saturday week after competing in a jump-out at Caulfield on Tuesday morning.

The winner of the Group One William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley last autumn, Silent Sedition is being aimed at the Myer Classic at Flemington in November.

"She's in lovely order and her coat's come out and she looks very well in herself," Noblet said.

"Her first-up run will top her off nicely and then we can get on with the rest of her prep."

Following her first-up run at Flemington, Noblet is planning an assault on the Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield on October 21 on the way through to the Myer Classic.
