Boss suspension reduced, free for G1 ride

Wednesday 18 October 2017, 12:49pm

Glen Boss has had three meetings shaved off a careless riding suspension, allowing the leading jockey to ride in a Group One race in Singapore.

The Singapore-based jockey was suspended for causing interference aboard Riven Light in the Group One Caulfield Stakes last Saturday.

Boss, who pleaded guilty to the charge, appealed the severity of the sentence before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Wednesday.

He is free to ride Lim's Cruiser in the Group One Raffles Cup at Kranji on Sunday.

Country trainer Kelvin Bourke has been fined $10,000 after Can't Refuse tested positive to a banned substance at Sandown on July 26.

Can't Refuse showed the presence of an anti-inflammatory in both a pre-race blood and post-race urine sample.

Bourke fronted the RAD Board on two charges and pleaded guilty to the pre-race charge which resulted in the second charge being struck out.

He has been given 60 days to pay while Can't Refuse, which finished last, was disqualified.
