Supply And Demand will state his case for a two-pronged assignment in Western Australia over summer when the gelding makes a comeback at Randwick.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have targeted two $1 million Group One races at Ascot for the five-year-old providing he rediscovers the form he produced during his previous preparation in NSW and on the Gold Coast.

Supply and Demand has won his past four starts, a sequence that includes staying tests in the Listed Caloundra Cup and Grafton Cup in July.

He resumes in Saturday's Filante Handicap (1400m) with a view to racing him in the Railway Stakes (1600m) on November 25 and the Kingston Town Classic (1800m) on December.

"We're trying to work out a plan to best get him over there. This is the first step and we'd like to see a really good return from him to warrant pushing on," Bott said.

Supply And Demand has had one trial this month to get back in the groove and co-trainer Bott was pleased with his progress after he won over 1050-metres at Randwick.

"He's retained a certain amount of residual fitness and his trial gave us the confidence to push him to 1400 (metres_ first-up," Bott said.

He admitted Supply And Demand ($10) was better suited over further but noted a first-up record that includes a win and two seconds from three starts.

"We've seen he can sprint well fresh and his form around the 1400 and mile is still excellent," Bott said.

Waterhouse and Bott are also using Saturday's feature race to usher six-year-old gelding Cabeza De Vaca ($16) back into action for the first time since January.

Cabeza De Vaca, who has won past three starts at class two and benchmark level will at aimed at the feature staying races in Sydney over summer.

"He's up to the mark for Saturday but his best form is when he gets over a little bit further. Once he gets up to the mile plus that where he comes into his own," Bott said.
