Warranty a guaranteed winner for Snowdens

Warranty is proving a sure thing for trainers Peter and Paul Snowden.

The three-year-old filly made it two wins from three starts in taking out the Cellarbrations Handicap (1400m) at Randwick, earning a Melbourne Cup carnival start for her efforts.

Warranty ($4.40) took up the running before holding on to beat the favourite Groundbreak ($3.60) with All Too Soon ($5.50) finishing 1-3/4 lengths away third.

Her win came after she broke maiden ranks on the NSW provincial circuit and trainer Peter Snowden is keen to raise the bar even higher.

"She's a nice, progressive filly. (She) put the writing on the wall with her maiden win last start, was very authoritative, and she's just kept on improving," Snowden said.

"(She's) definitely got talent and (it's) good to see her beat a nice horse with a good form today and there might be a trip to Melbourne Cup day now."

Snowden flagged the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) for three-year-old fillies at Flemington as her next appearance.

"Get a handy three-year-old, they can take these steps pretty quickly, and I think she's one that fits that bill," Snowden said.

Jockey Christian Reith was equally impressed.

"Obviously she's still got a bit of maturing and growing up to do but you know, good job ... for her to hold (Groundbreak) out was a good effort," Reith said.

"He (Snowden) said just let her roll along and keep her balanced, let her slowly go through her gears and she'll do the rest, and that's exactly what she did today."
