Lessons learned from Poste Restante's last campaign will play a role in her Brisbane Cup build-up.
Poste Restante began her last racing preparation with an impressive last-to-first win over 1200 metres at Doomben in October but ended it in disappointment when she laboured into sixth placing in the Summer Cup (2400m) at Rosehill on Boxing Day.
"We asked a bit of her last start," trainer Desleigh Forster said.
"She was backing up after ten days then had a float trip to Sydney and it was probably all a bit too much for her."
The Members' Handicap (1600m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday will be the the starting point for Poste Restante's Brisbane Cup campaign.
"I'm going to try and limit her races this time in," Forster said.
"I reckon about four races each prep with her is enough."
The four-year-old pleased Forster when she finished second in a 1000 metre barrier trial at Deagon last week when ridden by Michael Cahill.
"The track was pretty wet and she was just out there to have a bit of a look around without doing too much," she said.
"It was enough to bring her fitness on for her first run back at Eagle Farm.
"I'm looking forward to getting her back to the races again. She doesn't carry much condition and is quite easy to train."
Forster also will start Trilione (Kirk Matheson) and Dream `n' Ignite (Cahill) in the Juanmo Stakes (1200m) on Saturday.
Their stablemate Adebisi is having a well-earned rest and won't be seen at the Brisbane winter carnival.
The winner of the Rubiton Stakes at Caulfield in February, Adebisi could tackle the Ramornie Handicap (1200m) at Grafton in July before heading back to Melbourne for the early part of the spring carnival.
