Jinx 'N' Drinx continues Fradd run of form

Tuesday 7 November 2017, 1:52pm

Robbie Fradd showed why he is being tipped to end Jeff Lloyd's reign as Brisbane's premiership jockey with his winning ride Jinx 'N' Drinx at Doomben.

Fradd, who turns 53 next month, has been superb form riding six winners in the past week.

He has ridden thousands of winners in South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong where he was the leading jockey in the early 2000s.

Fradd relocated to the Gold Coast in 2014 and has been in the top 10 metropolitan jockeys since.

Jinx 'N' Drinx ($3.90) was his 299th overall Australian winner and lifted him to second behind Lloyd on the premiership where he trails 28-27.

The filly had been placed at her past four starts but had not led in in her any of her starts.

However, Fradd elected to go to the front and then dictated the pace before holding on to beat Lloyd's mount Hi Lizzy ($2.80) by a neck.

Lloyd has won the past two Brisbane premierships, setting a record for winners last season, and Fradd was third last year.

"Things are going well but it is bit early to be talking about about premierships," Fradd said.
