Rangirangdoo's Queensland homecoming has been put back with trainer Chris Waller confirming he will not run at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Instead of the Hinkler Handicap (1200m), Waller has chosen the somewhat harder option of the Group One All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday week which will feature All Too Hard and More Joyous.
The Group One target for the 2010 Doncaster Mile winner in what will be his final racing campaign is the Doomben Cup.
"The timing is hard leading to the Doomben Cup," Waller said.
"He has had three barrier trials and won one yesterday and we have decided to go the All Aged with a weight-for-age mile at Doomben on May the 12th before the Doomben Cup."
The eight-year-old will then settle into retirement on a property owned by Neville Morgan who paid $170,000 for him as a yearling in 2006.
After a preparation with trainer Lyle Plumb in Brisbane, Rangirangdoo was sent to Waller in Sydney.
The 2007 equine influenza outbreak delayed the start of his career until he was a four-year-old.
His 32 starts so far have made him a $2 million earner with the 2011 George Ryder Stakes also among his 10 wins.
