Two hospital bound after Hamilton fall

Monday 27 November 2017, 5:51pm

Two jockeys have been taken to hospital following a race fall at Hamilton.

Jarrod Fry and apprentice Jack Martin were taken to the local hospital for X-rays following their falls in the WDEA Handicap.

Riding Volontiers, Martin was the first to fall with Fry aboard Honest John coming down over the fallen horse just before the home turn.

The following race was delayed as the two riders were transported to hospital while a deputation of jockeys and Racing Victoria stewards inspected the area where the fall occurred before the final three races were run.

Both Volontiers and Honest John are reported to have escaped unscathed.
