NSW favourite for jockeys origin series

NSW has been installed as favourite for the annual origin Jockeys Challenge to be held over three days in Queensland.

Seven teams will contest the UBET sponsored challenge which will be run at Doomben on Friday and Saturday and Caloundra on Sunday.

There will be two heats each day with teams collecting points which will go towards the final result.

Most betting agencies have markets for the challenge with NSW at $4.

New Zealand, Queensland and South Australia are on the next line at $5 with the remainder at $6 or $7.

Fields and allocation of riders will be declared for the Doomben races on Wednesday and the Caloundra races on Thursday.

The teams are: NSW (Michael Rodd, Tye Angland), New Zealand (Damian Browne, Larry Cassidy), Queensalnd (Jim Byrne, Matt McGillivray), South Australia (Dwyane Dunn, Jamie Kah), Tasmania (Craig Newitt, Brendon McCoull), Victoria (Luke Nolen, Clare Lindop), All Stars (Robbie Fradd, Mark Du Plessis).
