Fradd wins jockey series in Mauritius

Monday 4 December 2017, 9:52am

Queensland's Robbie Fradd has won an International Jockeys Challenge in Mauritius representing his native South Africa.

Fradd and premier Brisbane rider Jeff Lloyd, who also represented South Africa, competed against riders from around the world over the weekend including Australian Luke Nolen.

Fradd was in sixth place after Saturday's meeting but three winners on Sunday elevated him to the top of the table.

He finished with 41 points with Brazil's Elione Chaves runner-up on 39.

English jockey Hayley Turner, who finished sixth, became the first woman to ride a winner in Mauritius.

Fradd will ride for the All Stars team in the three-day Origin jockeys series in Queensland at the weekend.
