Gollan can't split trio in Listed Just Now

Thursday 7 December 2017, 12:26pm

Tony Gollan has some bad news for rival trainers as he can't split his three runners as winning chances in the Listed Just Now Quality at Doomben on Saturday.

Gollan will have Notonyourlife, Of The Day and Sheiswhatsheis in the $100,000 race which usually produces a top-class winner.

The trio contested the Listed Ubet Classic (1200m) at Doomben two weeks ago when Notonyourlife won, Of The Day was fourth and Sheiswhatsheis was fifth.

Gollan said he found it hard to separate his trio who will all be having their second runs after a spell in the 1350m race.

He said Notonyourlife would be the sentimental stable runner as she was in foal to Spirit Of Boom.

"We have only got her until February so another black-type win would be special," he said.

"There must be some doubt about her at the distance but if she is going to win at the trip this will be it."

Gollan said Of The Day would be vastly improved by the first-up run.

"She loomed up to win last time and ran out of puff. She has come along nicely since and should run very well," he said.

Sheiswhatsheis led in the Ubet Classic and only faded in the last 100m.

"The tempo of a 1350 (metres) race will suit her a lot better and she has also done well," Gollan said.

Bookmakers rate Notonyourlife as the best of Gollan's trio as a $7.50 chance.

The Chris Waller-trained Zumbelina is the early favourite at $3.90.

Meanwhile, Gollan is nowhere near as upbeat about Frespanol and Brazen Moss - his runners in the Listed Brisbane Handicap.

"There are some top Group horses in the field but my blokes are fit and you have to run them somewhere," he said.

"Both have run some good races in this type of company."
