Single Bullet redirected to Wyong

Single Bullet's lead-in to the rich Magic Millions meeting on the Gold Coast has been modified after the colt's luckless outing at Rosehill.

Trainer Gary Portelli had intended to run the three-year-old next in the Christmas Classic (1200m) at Randwick on December 30 but Single Bullet will now make an earlier appearance ahead of the $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

Single Bullet is one of 16 entries for Thursday's $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3 and 4YO Stakes (1200m) after his failure in a benchmark race at Rosehill on December 9.

He was checked twice and finished last, 11 lengths behind Test The World.

"He was a slow into stride. He got sort of sandwiched at the gates, then horses came across, carved him up at the first turn and he got spat out the back," Portelli said.

"He basically lost all position. I think he got a fright than more anything. A young colt in that situation against the older horses, it's hard to recover.

"We'll push on and go to Wyong, see how he goes and then make a decision on whether we head for the Gold Coast or freshen him up and come back for the carnival in Sydney."

Earlier this year, Single Bullet won the Group Three Pago Pago Stakes before he was unplaced in the Golden Slipper won by his stablemate She Will Reign.

The $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions race for two-year-olds attracted 13 entries including the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained debutante Terminology.

The filly is the $9 third favourite for the $2 million Magic Millions Classic after coming in for heavy support since her 10-length barrier trial win on December 8.
