A significant rise in weight from her recent starts wasn't enough to stop in-form mare Friday Hussy from continuing her winning run at Caulfield on Saturday.
The David Hayes-trained mare had posted back-to-back wins leading into the BMW Handicap (2000m), but had to carry four kilograms more than her last start effort at Moonee Valley.
It mattered little as Friday Hussy ($8.50) enjoyed a nice run in transit just behind the speed and let down well enough under the 58kg impost to hold off the Peter Moody-trained Mumbeilly ($10) by a neck with Twin Soul ($7) another 2-1/4 lengths away third.
"I thought the extra four kilos today might bring her undone, but to her credit she showed a lot of heart," winning jockey Stephen Baster said.
"Mares in form just tend to keep winning."
Friday Hussy's win was followed up by an easy victory to the Stuart Webb-trained Mybenz in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1400m).
Her three length success over favourite Coins has earned the filly a trip to Adelaide for a Listed event in two weeks.
Mybenz was stripped of a win at Ballarat at the start of last month when apprentice Jackie Beriman was allowed to claim a weight allowance in a non-claiming race.
