Brotherly love evident for Nash Rawiller

Friday 27 April 2018, 6:03pm

Brad Rawiller has used a win at Benalla in country Victoria to express solidarity with his brother Nash who has been disqualified in Hong Kong for having an involvement in betting on horses he rode.

After saluting on Dixie Preacher on Friday, Rawiller spoke of how the controversy enveloping his elder sibling had galvanised the family.

"Obviously we're all behind Nash. We've got trust and love for him, and respect," Rawiller told broadcaster Racing.com

"Obviously it's been a trying last 24, 48 hours. I just want to thank everyone for their love and support

"We're all behind him whatever the outcome is. Nash is a good man, a great person and an even better father, brother and family member.

"Don't anyone ever forget that, that's all I want to say."

Nash Rawiller was found guilty of two charges pertaining to taking gifts for tips and being party to bets placed on horses he was riding.

There is no suggestion Rawiller had bet or tipped against his own mounts.

Rawiller, 43, has won three Sydney premierships and ridden 58 Group One winners including the Golden Slipper on Pierro in 2012.

He won the 2004 Caulfield Cup on Elvstroem and the following year rode the horse in an international campaign which included victory in the Dubai Duty Free at Meydan.
