Little sister gets job done at Warrnambool

Tuesday 1 May 2018, 4:28pm

Write Enuff, the younger sister to Rich Enuff, has made a winning debut at Warrnambool for trainer Ken Keys.

As a three-year-old Rich Enuff ran second in the 2014 Caulfield Guineas behind Shooting To Win and now stands at stud in Victoria.

Keys prepared Rich Enuff to win three races from 10 starts before he was transferred to Peter and Paul Snowden and retired to stud after two runs for the Sydney stable.

Making the trip from Cranbourne for her debut at Warrnambool, Write Enuff was heavily supported to win the VOBIS Gold Strike (1000m).

Ridden by Craig Williams, Write Enuff was sent off the $2.90 favourite and didn't let her supporters down, beating Celestial Shower ($8) by 1-1/4 lengths with Dame Of Thrones ($6.50) another length third.

Keys said Rich Enuff was beset by minor niggles which stopped him gaining an all-important Group One win after his narrow defeat in the Caulfield Guineas.

The trainer is already looking towards the Melbourne spring with Write Enuff.

"She doesn't know she's a sister to him and hopefully we can get to see the best of this one," Keys said.

"She's coped beautifully with it so far and has kept developing.

"We tried her in the spring but she was a bit immature and even now she's not sure what's happening around her."

Keys said he would get Write Enuff back to his Cranbourne stable before deciding if there she would have another start before a break.

"There's a race at Flemington in a fortnight but the spring is what it's all about for her," Keys said.

"There's no doubt we could keep going but I don't know if we have to."
