Josh Parr injured after fall at Canterbury

Wednesday 2 May 2018, 4:57pm

Sydney jockey Josh Parr has suffered a foot injury after being dislodged from Penny For A Pound when the mare broke down in the early stages of a race at Canterbury.

Parr limped into the stewards room with an ice pack and strapping on his left foot and has been stood down from Thursday's meeting at Wagga Wagga.

He was diagnosed with ligament damage but was hopeful of being able to ride at the Gold Cost on Saturday.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained six-year-old was euthanised after breaking a right fore leg shortly after jumping in the Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap (1250m).
