Trainer Ciaron Maher is hoping Aloisia can be his return Group One winner when she runs in the Australasian Oaks at Morphettville.

The filly gave Aaron Purcell his first Group One win after he took control of Maher's stable when he was hit with a six-month suspension.

Maher returned to the helm last month and saddled Aloisia when she finished seventh in the ATC Australian Oaks at Randwick on April 14.

Aloisia was among a group of horses that flew from Sydney to Adelaide for the Adelaide carnival and Maher said the filly was in top order for Saturday's race but barrier 13 was no help.

"She's trained on really well but she just cannot draw a barrier," Maher said.

"She'll roll forward and the 2000 metres, on form, looks an ideal trip for her."

Aloisia will be joined by Pretty To Sea who at her first 2000m attempt finished second to Luvaluva in the Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick on April 7.

Maher said it was a great performance from the filly and like her stablemate had no luck with the draw,coming up with 14.

"She too will also likely roll forward," Maher said.

"That was her first try at 2000 metres and she did a good job and seems to have trained on really well."

After running on Saturday they may head north for the Queensland Oaks in June.

"Aloisia thrived up there last year," Maher said.

"So we'll give them the opportunity to have a break and get a bit of sun on their backs and they usually bounce off that."

Darren Weir saddles three chances in the race including $5 favourite Sopressa and $7 third favourite Think Bleue.

He has also got a strong hand in the Group One Robert Sangster Stakes with $5.50 second favourite Quilista and $14 chance Whispering Brook.

Quilista is aiming at a fourth straight win while Whispering Brook was successful over Saturday's course and distance at her last start on April 21.

"Both horses are well and have drawn good barriers," Weir said.

"They should get a good run from those barriers and get their chance."
