Trainer Kim Waugh has extended her record with former Lloyd Williams-owned stayers, with Our Century winning the Listed Lord Mayors Cup at Rosehill.

He joins Goathland as a winner for his new trainer after she paid $145,000 each for the horses, who were sold by Williams when he cut down his team to accommodate new arrivals from Europe.

Williams buys horses to pursue the Melbourne Cup, which he has won a record six times as an owner.

Waugh is not aiming quite so high with her two acquisitions and will target both at next month's Group Two Brisbane Cup (2200m) at Doomben.

Goathland won the Anzac Day Cup (1800m) at his first start for Waugh while Our Century was having his second race for the Wyong trainer at Rosehill over 2000m after being unplaced over 1400m on April 21.

"I was confident coming here today because of the way he has been working with Goathland," Waugh said.

"The only thing I didn't want was to see him sitting three-deep from the outside barrier and of course that's what happened."

Jason Collett, who rode Our Century ($9), said having to race wide was no problem for the gelding who powered home to beat Ecuador ($3.50) by 1-1/4 lengths, with Nettoyer ($3.90) another half length third.

"I tried to slot in but he was comfortable where he was," Collett said.

"I was confident before the race. I looked at him in the yard and he looked a million dollars.

"He was simply the superior stayer against these horses."

Waugh said her training facility at her Central Coast property mirrored many of the conditions at Williams' Mount Macedon facility in Victoria.

"They live like they do in Lloyd's paddocks," she said.

"They have adjusted to our ways very easily. I really appreciate Lloyd tipping us into these two.

"Our Century will go to the McKell Cup here and Goathland will run in the Chairman's Handicap next week in Brisbane. They won't meet until the Brisbane Cup."

The McKell Cup (2400m) is at Randwick on May 26, two weeks before the Brisbane Cup.
