Harry Angel set for return at York

Tuesday 15 May 2018, 9:57am

Star sprinter Harry Angel will face six rivals when he has his first start for the season in the Group Two in the Duke of York Stakes.

Clive Cox's charge claimed successive Group One triumphs in the July Cup at Newmarket and the Sprint Cup at Haydock last year and has attracted the interest of Sydney businessman Damion Flower as a contender to take his slot in the $13 million Everest in Sydney in October.

The Godolphin-owned four-year-old must concede weight all round on his return to action at York on Wednesday but will still be favourite.

Last year's Duke of York winner Tasleet is back to defend his crown for Newmarket trainer William Haggas.

Brando, Ornate, Perfect Pasture, Sir Dancealot and German challenger Artistica complete the line-up.
