Victoria's Mark Webb is one of the few trainers who hopes wet weather returns to Brisbane after his mare Miss Iano set herself on a possible Group One path at Doomben on Saturday.
Miss Iano ($14) made it two wins from four Brisbane starts when she beat Taillevent ($7) by two lengths with a half neck to Sonny Legend ($16) in the Pullman Brisbane Airport Hotel Handicap (1200m).
Cranbourne-based Webb was at the Wodonga races on Saturday but stable representative Andrew Homann said better things were in store for Miss Iano.
"She really is a swimmer and any rain would help her chances in bigger races," he said.
Webb has only two horses in Brisbane but is considering sending more north for the winter.
