Options kept open for in-form Inn Keeper

Symon Wilde admits he is still unsure what level lightly raced Inn Keeper can reach but the Warrnambool trainer is looking forward to finding out.

Inn Keeper has won six of his eight starts and made a successful introduction to city racing at Caulfield last start on May 12.

That victory was the four-year-old gelding's third-straight win from as many starts this preparation after scoring narrowly at Terang on a heavy track before a strong win at Warrnambool on soft going during the May carnival.

Inn Keeper is entered to try to extend his winning sequence in Saturday's WT Partnership Handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley, stepping up to benchmark 90 grade for the first time.

He has the outside barrier in a capacity field and connections also have the option to wait for the $100,000 Golden Topaz at Swan Hill on Friday week.

"He has got really good early speed, so we'll have a close look at the race," Wilde said.

"The two races we had in mind were this one and perhaps the Golden Topaz. They are both worth the same money.

"We'll have a close look."

Inn Keeper only had nine days between his Warrnambool and Caulfield wins so Wilde has given the sprinter a bit more time heading into his next start.

"I think if we run I think he'll run very well," he said.

Inn Keeper is a home bred for the Wilde family and the trainer says the four-year-old has gone right on with the job this campaign.

"I really don't know what his level is," Wilde said.

"Every time we've raised the bar slightly he comes up trumps.

"Since the blinkers have gone on this preparation I think he's gone to another level and I don't know where his ceiling is."
