RAD Board dismisses charge against Egan

Thursday 31 May 2018, 4:44pm

Jockey Billy Egan has been cleared over his handling of a horse at Mornington with the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board dismissing the charge.

Racing Victoria stewards charged Egan with failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure Zizzis was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible placing in a race on April 16.

Two-year-old Zizzis, the $2.20 favourite, came from the tail of the eight-horse field and finished second in the 1000m-race.

Egan pleaded not guilty and at a hearing in Melbourne on Thursday the RAD Board found the charge could not be proved.
