Super Suave survives objection in Final

Saturday 30 June 2018, 3:29pm

Jockey Brad Stewart had to survive nervous wait before he continued his great record on Super Suave at Caloundra on Saturday.

Super Suave ($9.50) held on to beat Rocky Supreme ($8.50) by a short half-head in the $100,000 Sprinters Final (1200m).

It was Brad Stewart's fifth win on Super Suave who had been unlucky at his previous start.

Ron Stewart on Rocky Supreme fired in a protest alleging interference about 30 metres from the line.

Stewart alleged Super Suave had moved out two horses and bumped him.

"I always felt I was going to win. It was a real slog up the straight and I was on a fit horse," he said.

Brad Stewart agreed it had been a slog but said the horses had only brushed in the final stages.
