Imoto hasn't reached the heights of her older sibling Yosei but the lightly raced mare was good enough to post the second city win of her career at Caulfield on Saturday.
The younger half-sister of multiple Group One winner Yosei was sent out $2.80 favourite in the Charlie Agius Handicap and wound up in the straight after sitting in the box seat to score by 1-1/2 lengths over Tranquera ($31) with a half neck to Moscow Pearl ($4.60) third.
Yosei, who is trained by Stuart Webb, was in Adelaide on Saturday for the Group One Goodwood (1200m).
Trainer Mick Price would like to get Imoto some black type of her own and the trainer is likely to test her over further after the four-year-old was strong to the line at the end of 1600m.
"Yosei has already made Imoto's (pedigree) page," Price said.
"It would be nice to get a bit of black type with her but I don't know if she can do that. I'll have to have a think about that one.
"We'll probably try her over a bit further."
Imoto scored at Flemington in a fillies race last winter and showed she was on track for more city success with placings in her first two starts of this campaign.
