Racegoers at Newmarket on Saturday will be treated to an up close appearance by Frankel ahead of what is likely to be his final start next month.

The Sir Henry Cecil-trained superstar will gallop an hour before the start of racing on Cambridgeshire day in preparation for the Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 20.

Director of racing Michael Prosser says the public can expect a rewarding glimpse of the world's highest-rated horse as he works alongside regular companion Bullet Train and Midsummer Sun.

"He worked on Guineas Saturday and it went extremely well," Prosser told Racing UK.

"He'll be coming into the pre-parade at around 12.40 and getting saddled up. The jockeys will wear silks and have number cloths on.

"He will work over seven and half furlongs (1500m) and then go back into the winner's enclosure, so it will be treated like a race.

"We had massive crowds the last time Frankel worked before the first race and I think we are doing a bit more this time with silks etcetera."
