Mollyfied to back up at Warwick Farm

Tuesday 17 July 2018, 5:05pm

Mollyfied will be given another chance to claim a late season metropolitan win when she steps up to 1600 metres at Warwick Farm.

The mare goes to Wednesday's fillies and mares race a week after a troubled run in a 1350m-race at the same track.

"The plan is for her to go round again and see how she goes over a mile," trainer Gerald Ryan said.

"She didn't have a lot of luck last time."

Mollyfied is at $8.50 in a market in which all seven runners are under double figures with the $2.80 favourite, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Wide Spread Panic.

The filly takes a step back from an unplaced run in Saturday grade to run at Warwick Farm.

The Ryan-trained Love's A Fantasy will be having at Warwick Farm to run over 1300 metres at her first start since a disappointing 2017 spring campaign.

"She has had two trials to get her fit so we'll see how she goes," Ryan said.

Sydney premiership leader Brenton Avdulla takes a 14-win lead over Blake Shinn into the Warwick Farm meeting with four meetigs remaining.

Avdulla brought up his 90th metropolitan winner at Rosehill on Saturday and said that had been his season goal rather than the premiership.

Last year, Avdulla had a healthy lead until the last few weeks when Hugh Bowman went on the attack and ran him down to win by 4-1/2.

Avdulla will also win the state title having racked up 160 winners so far, 22 more than Tye Angland who is taking a holiday.

Leading country rider Greg Ryan is on 123.
