We are thrilled to announce Fastnet Rock’s most dominant Gr1 winning son Your Song will retire to Widden this season complementing our fabulous stallion roster.
Resuming from a spell, the Anthony Cummings trained colt turned in an explosive performance to thrash a quality field and win the 1200 metre weight-for-age sprint in a breeze from seasoned Group I performers Rain Affair, Buffering & Sea Siren, the 5 length winning margin is the single most dominant Group One win by any son of Australia’s Champion Stallion. In fact, this is the greatest winning margin of all the Group One WFA races run this season.
Your Song has been on our radar since his two impressive 2yo victories in Sydney last year and his 2nd placing behind Pierro in the Gr3 Run to The Rose defeating Gr 1 winners Epaulette & All Too Hard. Having enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Mr Conjuangco’s Gooree Stud (standing previous star colt and now leading young sire NORTHERN METEOR) we were aware both Monica Barrera (Gooree Racing Manager) & Andrew Baddock (Gooree General Manager) described Your Song as the “pick of their foal crop” in 2010. Looking at him now this horse would have to rank as one of the most imposing colt’s I have ever seen….. A stunning individual.
The Widden stallions are currently enjoying great success headed by champion young sire Stratum who is in the Top 10 2yo, 3yo and General Sires tables. The momentum continues with both Sebring and Northern Meteor vying for Champion First Season Sire honors, Nicconi’s first crop in great demand at the yearling sales this year and Star Witness & Tickets first crops to sell as yearlings next year.
Our Stallion lineup represents a great opportunity to breed to Australia’s best Sire lines at excellent value.
Your Song will have two more starts in the Group I BRC Doomben 10,000 on May 25 and the Group I BRC Stradbroke Hcp on June 8 with a fee to be announced on his retirement to Widden.
