Enable primed for Arc defence

Monday 10 September 2018, 9:18am

Enable is reported to be in fine fettle after her winning return to action in the Group Three September Stakes at Kempton.

Having been sidelined for much of the season with a knee injury, the John Gosden-trained four-year-old made was making first appearance since her win in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October last year.

Saturday's win has elevated Enable to the top of the market at 7-4 to defend the Arc.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said Enable had come through the race in fine order.

"She was in very good form going into the race and we always hoped she would produce a good performance," he said.

"The way she did it was very pleasing. I think everything about it was good and I don't think you could have asked for any more in how the race worked out.

"The Arc is a huge race and she will have to bring her A-game, but that was a very good start to her year, if a somewhat belated one."
