Makybe Diva Stakes attracts 17 nominations

Monday 10 September 2018, 2:03pm

Defending champion Humidor headlines a star-studded list of 17 nominations for the Group One Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.

While champion Winx is the main attraction in Saturday's Group One George Main Stakes at Randwick in Sydney, Humidor is one of 13 individual Group One winners among the nominations for the Makybe Diva (1600m).

Victoria's premier trainer Darren Weir has five horses nominated, with Black Heart Bart, Caulfield Cup favourite Kings Will Dream, and Japanese imports Tosen Basil and Danon Liberty joining Humidor.

Multiple Group One winner Happy Clapper is entered while Sydney's premier trainer Chris Waller has nominated four of his Group One winners - Comin' Through, Egg Tart, Unforgotten and Youngstar with the four also in the George Main mix.

New Zealand stayer Jon Snow, winner of last year's Australian Derby, is scheduled to make his first Australian appearance of the season in the weight-for-age race.
