McEvoy to ride 1kg over on Metrop fav

Tuesday 25 September 2018, 6:32pm

Kerrin McEvoy is likely to ride Metropolitan Handicap favourite Brimham Rocks one kilogram over the horse's given weight.

The Chris Waller-trained Brimham Rocks is one of 11 horses in the field of 18 plus one emergency on 50kg.

Brimham Rocks heads the market at $5 with the Mick Price-trained Miss Admiration at $8.

Miss Admiration also has 50kg with Dean Holland one of several light-weight Victorian jockeys to ride in Sydney on Saturday.

There is no Melbourne metropolitan meeting on Saturday because of the AFL Grand Final.

Premier Melbourne jockey Craig Williams will ride the Waller-trained High Bridge at 51kg in the Metropolitan.

Racing NSW stewards are expected to have a full list on Wednesday of riders who may need to ride overweight in both the Epsom and Metropolitan Handicaps.

The Waller-trained D'Argento is the favourite for the Epsom (1600m) while Tea Rose Stakes winner Miss Fabulass heads the market for the Flight Stakes (1600m) for three-year-old fillies.
