Jockey Damien Oliver given the all clear

Friday 28 September 2018, 12:49pm

Jockey Damien Oliver has been cleared to ride after an injury scare which threatened to keep him out of two Group One races.

Oliver's leg became jammed against a steel partition in the barriers when Thousand Wishes played up in the gates on Wednesday at Flemington.

His manager Mark Van Triet confirmed he would be right to ride after suffering bruising to his left shin.

"He's got the all-clear from the doctors and he's fine to go," Van Triet said.

Oliver has five rides on Friday night at the Valley including Spright in the Group One Moir Stakes.

His rides on Sunday include Grunt, the $3 favourite, in the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.
