Moir flop Nature Strip out of $13m Everest

Saturday 29 September 2018, 12:23pm

Nature Strip will not run in The Everest for the Australian Turf Club after his Moir Stakes failure.

The Darren Weir-trained sprinter faded after leading to finish eighth as favourite in Friday night's Group One Moir at Moonee Valley.

Australian Turf Club chairman Matt McGrath confirmed via social media that a search was now on for new slot runner.

The representative for the slot held by a group led by Max Whitby has also yet to be announced.

Moir Stakes winner Viddora showed off her credentials for inclusion with an impressive victory on Friday night, beating Brave Smash who is already in The Everest.
