Lane, Forrester suspended from Moir Stakes

Sunday 30 September 2018, 6:32pm

Damian Lane has been suspended following an adjourned inquiry from the Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Lane rode the favourite Nature Strip in the Group One sprint on Friday night and Racing Victoria stewards suspended him on a careless riding charge for seven meetings when the hearing was held at Caulfield on Sunday.

He deferred the suspension to begin after the Turnbull Stakes meeting at Flemington next Saturday and he returns for the Caulfield Guineas meeting on October 13.

Kevin Forrester was also suspended out of the Moir Stakes, copping a 10-meeting ban for careless riding on Jungle Edge while Queensland-based Ryan Maloney was issued a severe reprimand for his ride on Houtzen.

Noel Callow was suspended for 10 meetings after his ride on Octabello in the Inglis Cup at Caulfield.
