Tony Gollan's disappointment after Ef Troop's Randwick defeat in the Crowley Stakes was softened when he trained four winners at Doomben.
Ef Troop struggled in the rain-affected conditions at Randwick to finish second last but it was a more positive result at Doomben for Gollan when talented filly Light Up The Room ($10) completed a quartet of wins for his stable.
The daughter of So You Think was ridden by Brad Stewart who predicted a bright future for the three-year-old after she finished strongly to win the Ray White Ascot Handicap (1200m) first-up from a spell.
"It's the first time I've ridden her but she left me with a good impression," Stewart said.
"We were buried back in the field but I was following the stablemate Shamurt and I felt we only needed the breaks to go our way and she'd be right in the finish.
"Luckily for us that's how it panned out and she was too good for them."
In her first campaign, Light Up The Room won her debut at the Gold Coast and ran third to Granny Red Shoes in Listed company at Doomben at her following start before a spell.
Gollan's earlier winners at Doomben were Galtero (Jim Byrne), Umberto (Jeff Lloyd) and Prue's Angel who was also ridden by Stewart.
