Spring Champion Stakes runner-up Aramayo is the new favourite for the Group Two Vase at Moonee Valley following the scratching of last-start Caulfield winner Verry Elleegant.
Verry Elleegant heads betting on the VRC Oaks after an impressive victory in last Saturday's Ethereal Stakes.
She appears likely to run in Saturday week's Wakeful Stakes at Flemington as a lead-in to the VRC Oaks five days later.
Verry Elleegant's Vase defection leaves Godolphin's Aramayo at the top of the market at $3.50 for Saturday's 2040m race for three-year-olds.
Aramayo is being aimed at the Victoria Derby (2500m) on Saturday week and trainer James Cummings said the colt needed another 2000m race to be ready for the staying classic.
"If he's able to run well here, then I think it will tell us that he's ready to go at Flemington," Cummings said.
