Sizzling will race in blinkers in Saturday's Queensland Guineas despite the misgivings of his trainer.
Kelso Wood isn't convinced Sizzling needs blinkers but has agreed to the gear change after consulting jockey Chris Munce and the colt's regular trackwork rider Patricia Gesler.
"Personally I don't think they'll make a great deal of difference," he told RadioTAB.
"I've always been against putting them on him. It's not going to make him go any faster but it might make him focus a bit better."
Sizzling is the $5 equal favourite for the Guineas with the Peter Snowden-trained Academus despite two unplaced lead-up runs this campaign.
The colt resumed with a fifth to Academus in the Gold Coast Guineas on May 4 before running sixth to Platinum Kingdom in the Fred Best Classic at Doomben a fortnight later.
Wood has defended Sizzling's form and is confident he can win the Guineas.
"Everyone's bagged him but his runs have been enormous," he said.
Sizzling has drawn barrier 11 in the Guineas and Wood believes he races best when he can make his finishing run on the outside of his rivals in the straight.
It has always been Wood's plan for Sizzling to back up in the Stradbroke after the Guineas.
Mick Price has scratched his Guineas runners Eximius and Al Aneed.
Eximius will be reserved for Saturday week's Daybreak Lover Quality (1600m) after he drew barrier 16 in the Guineas.
Al Aneed has heat at the back of a fetlock and Price fears it might be a tendon injury.
He will wait for scans to confirm the extent of Al Aneed's injury which is likely to rule him out of racing for the rest of the year.
